More Americans work for the government than work in construction, farming, fishing, forestry, manufacturing, mining and utilities combined. We have moved decisively from a nation of makers to a nation of takers. Nearly half of the $2.2 trillion cost of state and local governments is the $1 trillion-a-year tab for pay and benefits of state and local employees. Look, I agree with you, but I crack up at how this is the focus of the right wing of our country, which comically will lead to their downfall in the 2012 election.
Instead of directing your massive fraud at the highest levels of big business, Wall St., big oil and the like, you want to instead scapegoat government workers, cops, firefighters, teachers, mostly blue collar, middle class, working poor.
But hey, good luck with that.
