[Comment From Anthony De Rosa]
Journalism isn’t going away, it’s just increasingly moving towards a digital medium. That creates more opportunities, not less. I don’t understand why folks feel like the sky is falling. Evolve with the changing of the times, your skills as journalists make you more valuable in the digital medium.

Anthony: I totally agree. Just because newspapers aren’t doing so hot doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of journalism-based opportunities. Lots of new media companies, journalism or not, need us.

Yes, Anthony. I agree. I am excited and anxious all at once.

Anthony: No kidding. Just because someone can edit video, audio or build a web page, doesn’t mean they know how to craft a story or conduct an interview.

Anthony: it may create more opportunities for storytelling, but right now it’s not creating more *job* opportunities. It doesn’t pay, plain and simple. As a recent college grad, I’m not sure how I’m supposed to get experience if there are no jobs (and survive as well — I’d like health insurance too!).

Anthony— You’re talking like someone with a staff job… The sky isn’t falling if you have a job and health insurance. It is if you don’t.
