YOU’RE FIRED.Vimeo is not what I would call “Professional” ready. It’s still in the hobbyist domain.
Usually when this happens, it’s because of the video codec that was uploaded. This is no where near a Vimeo-only issue. It has more to do with the ridiculous number of codecs that are put out there. Vimeo isn’t perfect, but no software is, and no video-sharing site is going to flawlessly convert every video that is uploaded to it.

*Edit: Also, why would you post something to the Internet and not contact us about how to fix the problem? That’s not a good way to get something working. There’s not even a link here for me to check it out.
Dalas, I appreciate what you guys do and by far you have the best user interface of any video community on the web, but I am constantly frustrated by how long it takes to get my videos up on the site.
I’m not technical enough to know why it takes so long, but neither are most people who simply like to shoot videos and want to upload them. All they know is “oh crap, its going to take an hour to upload this 5 minute video?”
Are we simply not at the point technologically to be able to upload a video, at worst, in twice as long as the length of the footage is?
Professional? That term is SO vague. And really, it is meaningless.
