I think there are strong arguments on both sides. Artists need to benefit from what their supposed promoters are creating.
Yes, the RIAA can’t see the forest through the trees, and the benefits of what some third-party music sites like muxtape are doing, but there needs to be some compromise.
A compromise that doesn’t cripple folks with good intentions from creating ways for people to discover new music and help support artists ability to make a living in an industry that makes it almost impossible, without infringing on artists rights.
