I know Tumblr isn’t a message board, I understand its a different concept. But its so frustrating to know that you comment is your final input on a topic, no matter how much you’d like to follow up after someone reblogs it.
Such as in the Great Shake Shack Debate.
Sure you could reblog your own post but that seems like poor tumblr form.
You could use the commenting features if they’re available but the people who you’re usually discussing a post with don’t see them in their dashboard.
I know i’m ranting here and its not what I think Marco and David’s vision of Tumblr is, but it is frustrating to me sometimes.
For what its worth, my follow up on that thread was going to be that I can make a burger in my backyard that destroys any SS burger. I can get those awesome dutch potato rolls at the market, pick up some primo ground beef, and whip up my own special sauce.
The massive line kills the convienience factor over having to make your own burger (which I love making anyway)
I’ve yet to try BLT Burger, anyone been?
Share the recipe, we can try for ourselves if it is as good as the shack burger. The problem with homemade burgers generally is that the beef is ground at the super market and usually it is pure chuck. They say the combo at SS is sirloin + chuck. The meat usually has great beefy flavor at is salted correctly. I dunno how they do it but their beef always has flavor. The problem I run into when salting at home is that salt makes the beef lose moisture. So yea.
A burger that beats SS? Let the tumblr-verse know! It’s only fair!
What I love about the SS burger is that it is so moist, it practically melts in your mouth, along with the perfectly soft chewy texture of the potato roll. Thats the key with the backyard burger I think, to be very gentle and not overcook. One flip, thats it. Medium rare, of course.
My sauce is simple. I place a small slice of butter on the burger, then I mix a pinch of garlic powder with mayonaisse, apply that to the top bun. Thats it. Its not rocket science, but it taste pretty damn good, to me at least.
I’ve just broken my own rule of not reblogging my own posts so I can reply to a reblog. Someone help me!
