Well I don’t think we are going to find any common ground on the point of if it is created to be misleading. The very fact that they’ve placed it there is proof that they’re trying to be misleading, advertising header or not. Again, I am not necessarily saying this is a bad thing. I support the hustle because it’s hard enough to make a living in this business to worry too much about inconveniencing casual readers.
I agree with you on banner blindness, and this goes back to my whole point. The ads are doing what they’re intended to do, which is misleading the reader into thinking it is editorial, which makes it more successful than your traditional approaches.
