I’m curious what other people think. I get pitches for things all the time for the two sports blogs that I run and I can smell a form letter a mile away. I don’t think I’ve sent a form letter via email and I sure as heck would never be that guy/girl who sends out one of those mass emails with every email address naked in the cc field. I feel equal parts embarrassed and annoyance for the sender. It takes time to reach out personally to each person you want to reach, but I’ve found quality beats quantity when it comes to this sort of thing and you’d rather focus your energy on making connections with a few people who can really make an impact. So I ask you, reading how he decided to go about this promotional campaign for his book, did Gary screw up?
