Did you read the link John? I was just saying Henry (or you) clearly missed a discussion about attribution and affiliation.
For one thing, I posted the Bernanke item.
For another thing, I don’t think Bernanke as a public official really has any right to his words.
And for another thing, I think to say that anyone here “missed” that discussion is a bit misleading, since it suggests that that discussion is something we would’ve come across in anything close to the normal course of business. I mean, you could say “Oh, you missed that Chrysler story….”
But to say we missed some techie/media blogwank is not really accurate.
This is a slippery slope. Using Joe’s logic, I could have an entire website, in the vein of the Huffington Post, being driven by by-lines of famous folks, except without their consent.
Using Joe’s logic, I am entitled to their words and entitled to use them as a by-line because they are public figures.
Does anyone else see something wrong with this and how many would object?
